Allah Knows And He Will Reward You

Allah says:

“…Whoever Does Voluntary Good Deeds, Indeed Allah Is The Appreciative, The Most Knowledgeable.”

[Al-Baqarah 2:158]

After informing the people that Mount Safa and Marwa (in Makkah), are from the signs of Allah and those who perform Hajj and Umrah should walk between them, Allah ends of the verse by saying that any voluntary good deed a person carries out, Allah is Shaakir (The Appreciative) Aleem (The All Knowledgeable).

One of the meanings of Shaakir is, The One who rewards more than the deed deserves. He rewards in abundance for small acts of worship. As you strive to become a better person, remember to do voluntary good deeds and know that no matter how small and insignificant they may seem, Allah rewards generously.

He also describes himself as Aleem (The All Knowledgeable) to remind us that we may carry out good deeds that go unnoticed and are unappreciated by others. Don’t worry, Allah knows them

Summary

Carry On Doing The Good You’re Accustomed To. Allah Knows It and He Rewards Generously.

Ponder Over The Verse

'‘Guide Us To The Straight Path” (1:5)

Reflection

We ask Allah several times a day for guidance. This includes being guided to the right path as well as remaining steadfast on it. Always ask Allah to keep you steadfast. How many people have a lifetime full of goodness, however towards the end of their lives they deviate. May Allah guide us all and keep us steadfast. Aameen

How The Messenger Used A Tool To Amplify His Message .

Some men came to Sahl ibn Sad R.A asking him about the mimbar (pulpit) of the Messenger so he said:

"The Messenger ﷺ sent a message to a woman who had a worker who was a carpenter and said ”Tell him to make me a pulpit that I can sit on when addressing the people.” so it was made and brought to the Messenger ﷺ . [Bukhari]

This hadith contains many benefits

  • Imam Al Bukhari R.A puts this hadith under the “chapter of what is said of a carpenter” to show this is a permissible occupation.

  • The need for skilled labour in every society, even at the time of The Messenger

  • The Messenger used whatever means he had available to amplify and spread the message of Allah. In some narrations, this pulpit made it easier for the Messenger to teach the companions as he could be seen and heard by more people due to him being raised.

Summary

As muslims we should utilise any permissible means, especially modern advancements in technology to spread and amplify the true message.

Practise Upon A Sunnah

When entering the place to relieve himself The Messenger ﷺ would say, “O Allah I seek your protection from every form of evil and immorality.” (Agreed Upon)

Upon exiting He would say “I ask Your Forgiveness” (Abu Dawud)

The First Hijra (Migration) To Habasha

As Quraysh began to abuse and torture the early muslims such that it became unbearable, The Messenger ordered some of the early muslims to migrate to Habasha. (Some say this is roughly in the region of present day Ethiopia and Somalia).

One of the reasons being, in Habasha, there was a king called Najashi who did not oppress anybody even though he was a christian. He eventually accepted Islam. It’s mentioned that 14 muslims migrated during this period of time. Some of the most prominent being Uthman ibn Affan, Ruqayya daughter of the Prophet , Abu Salamah, Umm Salamah and others (May Allah be pleased with them).

During this period of time part of Surah Al Kahf (The Chapter Of The People Of The Cave) was revealed. This was to give comfort to the early muslims and remind them that in the same way they had migrated because of persecution, there were servants of Allah who came before, who also had to flee their cities in order to preserve their deen.

In Surah Kahf, the story of Musa A.S and Khidr was also a reminder that there is wisdom behind everything that happens, even if apparently it may seem detrimental and the story of Dhul Qarnayn was a reminder that even after difficulty and hardship Allah gives control of His kingdom to his upright worshippers.

Lesson

Next time you recite Surah Al-Kahf, make it a point to understand and reflect over the stories mentioned and remember this chapter was revealed as comfort for the muslims at a time of great difficulty and hardship.

My Thought

We all have goals and ambitions. Many of us are waiting for the perfect moment in order to pursue them. We carry on telling ourselves that the time isn’t right and years pass by without us having achieved anything.

If your ambitions are worth pursuing and you’ve planned, then just start. It may be messy and unorganised at the beginning, however always remember that the perfect moment almost never comes.

Almost everybody you look upto who seems to be successful in your eyes are still figuring it out.

The last thing you want is to have lived a life of regret because you didn’t try.

If you found this beneficial, I would be grateful if you could share it with others and encourage them to subscribe

If you have any general feedback, i would love to hear it. You can reply directly to this email.

See You Next Week إن شاء الله
